PAW PAL PROGRAM
At Puppy Progression Pathway, we offer three primary client programs:
- Vision Assistance Dog Program: pairing individuals with highly-trained vision assistance dogs.
- Adaptive Orientation Skills Program: providing instruction in orientation and mobility techniques for safe, independent travel, with a focus on skills relevant to vision assistance dog mobility.
- Canine Companion Program: matching both children and adults with specially selected dogs to serve as their pets and companions.
ARE YOU A GOOD FIT?
Suitable candidates for a K9 Buddy dog include children aged 5 or older and adults of any age with a verified visual impairment. Candidates should have a personal interest in owning a K9 Buddy dog and demonstrate emotional stability and maturity to care for the dog’s needs. Home interviews assess the environment and preferences, facilitating an appropriate match. Training and support from GDB staff ensure partnership success.
